Do you remember the things you did when you first started using the Web and how it has changed your life?
I only remember using the web for e-mail and IM'ing friends. My sister helped me create my first e-mail account, which was a yahoo account, so we could stay in touch while she was away at college. I still keep in touch with all of my family through e-mail and IM daily.
Who wakes up extra early and pays $30 to run over 5 miles on a holiday Thanksgiving morning? ME! Let's just say I made my goal and ran the entire thing without stopping in under an hour. Come to find out, the run was actually 5.5 miles and on part trail, part grass through the Golden Gate Park by the Polo Field. Although the weather was perfect, this will probably be my first and last Turkey Trot in SF if the trail remains the same.
I'm doing much better, thank you.
I'm going to be pretty generic but I honestly am thankful for the following things:
- My health
- Amazing & supportive family & friends
- Loving boyfriend, Gary
- Roof over my head in San Rafael, CA
- Job at Kantola Productions & tutoring position at NHI
- Massage therapy education from NHI
- Clothes that I wear
- Food that I eat
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm grateful that my parents & step sister are coming up to see me tomorrow morning :)
Today I had an appointment with my doctor, for some chest/back/neck pains I've been having. During the visit she asked me a simple question, if I was experiencing any severe anxiety or depression. To my surprise, I started to get all cloudy-eyed when she asked, no one ever has. I had to snap out of it to answer, thinking about it more might've produced a real tear, maybe more. I was a bit taken aback when she asked, but almost thankful at the same time. Yes, of course I have my friends who I'm close with and want to know what's going on, but no one lately has really truly wondered how I've been or maybe they have... Even if someone did ask, would I tell them that right now, that lately balancing a full load at work, school, driving to and from school, family, more school, friends and what little social life I have along with everything in between is sucking the happiness (if that's what it's called) right out of me... that lately I just want to stop. I'm tired. I want to quit school. I want to take a vacation far away. I want to sleep... sleep... sleep. The way she looked at me, so honest about wanting to know, it was real & I appreciated it.
